About Us

Pediatric musculOskeletal & RheumaTology Innovation COre center (PORTICO) is a National Institutes of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) Core Center of Excellence in Clinical Research focused on Pediatric Musculoskeletal Diseases (PMSKD)

We promote, innovate and support clinical research with advanced data science, data analytics capabilities, and data pipeline development

• We invigorate cross-disciplinary team science of the local and national community of researchers

• We enhance research by developing and offering cutting-edge assessment tools for capturing the benefits of health interventions and delineating phenotypes of Pediatric Musculoskeletal Diseases (PMSKD)

• PORTICO will seek optimal health outcomes or even a cure in three primary disease areas of focus: Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), childhood onset lupus (cSLE), and juvenile onset fibromyalgia (JFM)
